Some three hundred years ago, below the beckoning Jonkershoek peaks outside Stellenbosch, the Lanzerac Estate was established. Now an inviting, world-class hotel and spa, a wing of the hotel has been through a glamorous revamp.
We provided only our best bespoke baths, ceramic-ware and exquisite St. James taps and mixers. The end result is a sophisticated yet homely and welcoming space that’s hard to leave.
For all the bathrooms in this project the designer selected taps, mixers and shower valves from our classic St.James range. Precision engineered and finished in polished chrome, this high-end range was the perfect choice for the glamorous setting of the Lanzerac. Two of the bathrooms featured our Chaise slipper bath with its raised back for comfort, while the other suites were graced with either the beautifully proportioned Bateau or the Classique baths, all of which were finished in elegant moulded, white exteriors. All these baths are designed and manufactured exclusively for Victorian Bathrooms and the exteriors are also available in bespoke metallic finishes such as copper, lead and pewter.
The well-proportioned console basins complete the setting in all the bathrooms. These are wall hung basins with handcrafted wall hung brackets made from chrome-plated brass. While elegant in design, they are also practical, offering space for storing extra towels and amenities. The finishing touches included the radiator style Trafalgar heated towel rails, the freestanding towel stand and rack and the handcrafted bath rack.
